“We need to be more creative in looking for solutions. If there

were a high-speed train that went from Orange County to [LAX] that

got you there in 15 minutes without the driving and the parking

hassles, that could go a long way toward taking care of the increases

in traffic the [Airport Working Group] says are coming ....We should

look at mass transit options coming out of Orange County to LAX.”

* EFFICIENT GOVERNMENT:

“There are ways the city and schools could work together to both

benefit and save some money. The city does use school property for

some of its programs, but it doesn’t contribute to the upkeep of

those facilities. At the same time, the city does need places for

meeting space and other things. It wouldn’t always be possible to let

the two work together, but we should look for ways we can.”

* LOCAL COASTAL PLAN:

“I appreciate the security issues that people who live in prime

locations have.”

* WATER QUALITY:

“Making sure our beaches and water are as safe and clean as

possible is critical to our location I know that desalinization has

been written off as too costly in the past, but perhaps we need to

revisit desalinization to see what improvements have been made in the

technology.”
