Boys & Girls Club will receive donation

The Newport Harbor American Legion Post 291, the Ladies Auxiliary

and the Sons of the American Legion will donate $2,000 to the Boys &

Girls Club of the Harbor Area today, said Harlan Anderson, the

branch’s director.

The funds will be used for a new water cooler in the Costa Mesa

club’s gym and new tables in the club’s learning center.

Project Cuddles will host second costume gala

Costa Mesa-based Project Cuddle Inc. will host its second annual

costume gala at 7 p.m. Friday at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel, 3350

Avenue of the Arts, Costa Mesa.

The event will begin with cocktails and a silent auction, and will

be followed by an 8 p.m. dinner. The costumes, which are not

mandatory, will be judged.

Actress Hallie Eisenberg -- of Pepsi commercials fame -- will be
