Rush to judgment

The Blue Rush ran its record to 5-1-1 with a 5-0 victory over the

Fighting Irish in AYSO Region 57 girls under-12 soccer play Saturday.

Lauren Kopel scored two goals and single tallies were recorded by

Bryn Hastings, Beth Arnesen and Kelsey Davis.

Megan Gaal came up with two standout assists, while Katie Mural

dominated the midfield play. Camille Krahe and Jaclyn Risser were

strong defensively.

In boys under-10 play:

* Gunners 3, Green Geckos 0

The Gunners maintained their first-place status with a 6-1 record

in the American Division, with a strong display of teamwork.

Nick Gooding scored two goals and had an assist, and Spencer

Christoff had a goal.

Jack Nowak and Brandon Rus dominated the midfield, and

defensively, Cameron Orr, Nathan Chisholm, Colin Beaver and Ryan

Durazo stood out.

Tanner Grandstaff and Emery Molnar shared goaltending duties in

preserving the shutout.

* The Green Gators, despite the sterling play of captains Andrew

Fisher and Justin Tam, dropped a 3-2 decision on Saturday. David

Fenner and Michael Haeri each scored a goal off assists from Jack

Presson and Aaron Schott.
