Marine Corps Pfc. Bryce A. Wilkins, son of Mary E. Wilkins of

Huntington Beach and Stanley R. Wilkins of Mount Vernon, Ill. was

selected as the distinguished graduate for the Basic Hygiene

Equipment Operators Course ....Navy Fireman Scott C. Cornell, son of

Nadine E. Dosa of Nipomo and William E. Cornell of Huntington Beach,

is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Western pacific and

Arabian Gulf while assigned to the amphibious transport ship USS

Denver, home ported in San Diego. Cornell is a 2002 graduate of

Huntington Beach High School ....Navy Seaman Recruit Nathaniel R.

Taylor, a 2001 graduate of Edison High School, graduated from the

Basic Enlisted Submarine Course at the Naval Submarine School in

Groton, Conn ....Marine Corps Pvt. Aaron M. Chase, son of Lidalia M.

Braga and Michael N. Chase of Huntington Beach, completed basic

training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. Chase is a 2002

graduate of Marina High School ....Air Force Airman John A.

Hildenbrand, son of Emma Tillman of Huntington Beach, has graduated

from basic military training at Lackman Air Force Base, San Antonio,

Texas ....Mallorie Bryant of Huntington Beach was one of the

performers in the nationally recognized Orange County High School of

Arts production of “Voices of Color,” a compilation of prose and

poetry by artists of color that reflects the uniqueness and diversity

of society ....
