MANN ON:

* STUDENT SAFETY:

The school sites and facilities must constantly be examined and

upgraded to avoid exposing our children to both physical and

environmental dangers. We need to continue to update our

communication systems to ensure appropriate and timely response to

both medical services and parents. Student education is an important

factor in ensuring that our kids arrive safely to school and return

home safely.

* RAISING STUDENT TEST SCORES:

Continue to set high standards and try to provide opportunities so

that each child has appropriate materials and activities for success.

Upgrade school facilities so that our students have a safe,

productive environment to learn.

Continue to provide for effective educational teamwork. The work

of our staff, the teachers and parents has made the school district

an outstanding place for our kids. Hiring teachers with the

appropriate credentials has been a priority for the district.

* FISCAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE DISTRICT:

We are constantly trying to make improvements to the financial

management of the district.

The district has done an effective job in managing its limited

resources. While continuing to provide a top educational program, we

have expanded our facilities. We built the Huntington Seacliff

Elementary School, built a new science wing at Dwyer Middle School

and reopened Peterson School.

We are now commencing projects to improve the classrooms and

facilities at all the school sites.

* BIGGEST ISSUE FACING THE DISTRICT:

The district must prudently complete the projects approved by the

voters in the recent bond election. It will be exciting to see many

long-awaited projects commence. However, they need to be completed

with minimal disruption to the educational program.
