Friends of the Huntington

Beach Library will present the mystery/history luncheon with

authors Aileen Baron and Pamela Kaufman. The doors will open at 11:30

Huntington Beach pooches

can strut their stuff at the dog Howl’oween Costume Contest and

Parade. Registration starts at 1 p.m. and the parade will begin at 2

p.m. Awards will be given for the best costumes in the following

categories: most original, scariest, funniest, most patriotic, and

best owner/dog combination. The event will take place on the

greenbelt at 2nd Street in Sunset Beach. All proceeds will be donated

The Huntington Beach

Playhouse will open “The Foreigner,” a comedy by Larry Shue.

Directed by Tom Titus, the play is about a pathologically shy young

man whom everyone believes can’t speak English. He overhears things

Lions Club will hold the inaugural Shelter for the Homeless
