1 Martin Lawrence Galleries at Fashion Island will host a Fine Art

Auction at the Marriott Hotel in Newport Beach. A preview of the

artwork will begin at 6:30 p.m. today, and the auction will start at

8 p.m. The artwork will include original paintings, sculptures,

etchings, serigraphs and lithographs. The auction can be previewed at

THE DOGS’ CATWALK

2 The 10th annual Top Dog Fashion Show will be held at 11 a.m.

Saturday at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. The categories will

include best formal wear, best casual wear, best lingerie/pajamas,

best swimwear and best master/pet look-alike. Participants should

check in at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $12 on the day of the event;

parking is $8 per car. The resort is at 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport

TRICK OR TREAT

3 The fifth annual Trick or Treat Festival will be held from 9

a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Orange County Market Place in Costa

Mesa. World-renowned pumpkin sculptor Mike Valladao will create his

signature carvings from giant pumpkins. The festival will also

include the Halloween Hearse, a Bug and Monster Classic Car Show,

trick-or-treating for children in costume and pumpkin-related games.
