Seniors are branching out onto the Internet

Seniors are logging onto the Internet faster than any other age

group.

But these seniors aren’t just checking out bargains at Internet

auction sites, a lot of them are creating their own Web sites. Some

of the Web site subjects that seniors are developing and logging onto

include:

* Family History and Genealogy sites to educate and even locate

family members.

* Commemorative sites that honor a time, place or person from

the past.

* Sentimental sites provide a great service, particularly those

that deal with grief and overcoming loss.

* Artist sites allow creative seniors to post images of their

paintings, sketches, photographs, sculptures, etc., in a virtual

gallery.

Starting a site is easy, as there are plenty of software programs

available for building one. Once started, though, a Web site needs to

be updated and maintained.

Still, the Internet is one of the most effective communication

tools available.
