Newport tops Los Al

SEAL BEACH -- Newport Harbor High’s undefeated club surfing team

won its sixth straight dual meet of the season Monday with a 70-56

victory over Los Alamitos at Anderson Street.

Joey Head, David Neira and Matt Doheny were heat winners in the

short board, and Alex Knost and Erica Hosseini were runners-up in the

same events in intermittent 1-2-foot surf

Knost, a senior, doubled with a victory in the long board, and

Justin Kast was a winner in the body board.

Amy Lowry was second in the girls short/long board in a nonscoring

event.

Newport is at home on Monday when it hosts Mater Dei at 6:15 a.m.

at the 56th Street site.
