Orange Coast College will host a daylong conference focused on

adult re-entry education from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Center

and Captain’s Table. The conference is meant for community college

and university re-entry educators and students and will have workshop

The UC Irvine Arboretum will hold its annual Fall Orchid Festival

from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The

arboretum is just south of the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree

Road on the UCI North Campus. The cost is $2 per person, free for

children younger than 12 and members of the Friends of the UCI

The Masquerade Ball for the Arts will be held from 8 p.m. to 1

a.m. at the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach. The event,

which is in its fifth consecutive year, is a popular and hip

Halloween party for young professionals throughout Orange County and

A program exploring the games Native American children of the Back

Bay might have played will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon at The

Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center. The program is best suited

Fairview Developmental Center will host its 11th annual Ho Ho Ho-liday Boutique from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Fairview

auditorium. More than 40 artisans will be selling homemade crafts,

jewelry, florals and special holiday decor and gift items. All

proceeds from the event will go toward special programs at Fairview,

including Special Olympics and Very Special Arts, and toward holiday

“Look Good ... Feel Better” classes will be held from 10 a.m. to

noon at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. The classes are sponsored by

teaching cancer patients makeup, wig and turban tips, and trained

cosmetologists will personally work with each patient. The hospital
