As part of its Boo-Rito Halloween Event, Chipotle in Costa Mesa

will give a free meal to any customer who shows up at the restaurant

dressed up as one of the restaurant’s signature foil-wrapped

burritos, tacos or fresh ingredients. The restaurant encourages

creative interpretations and no sincere attempts will go unrewarded.

Fashion Island in Newport Beach will host a center-wide trick or

treat event for kids from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The event will also have

face painting, a balloon artist and a magician. Fashion Island is at

Joscelyn and Colleen Myers of Costa Mesa have agreed to give extra

candy to trick-or-treaters who donate used sunglasses and eyeglasses

(prescription and nonprescription) as part of a community service

project. The glasses will be given to LensCrafters, which, along with

the Lions Club, will give them to adults and children in developing

countries as part of its Sight Night program. A canopy will be set up

at 2284 Rutgers Drive, Costa Mesa, for the collections.

The Presbyterian Church of the Covenant will host a Harvest Fest

from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include a costume contest, face

painting, pumpkin carving, clowns and games. The church is at 2850

The Crossing, ROCKharbor Church and Church Centro de Fe Cristiano

will host a community Halloween event from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The

Crossing in Costa Mesa. The carnival-like event will include crafts,

games, a classic car show, a climbing wall, a bounce house, an

obstacle course and much more. The Crossing is at 2115 Newport Blvd.

Hornblower Cruises & Events will host a Halloween Murder Mystery

Cruise from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Boarding will start at 7 p.m. The

mystery cruise will give passengers a chance to participate in the

event by trying to figure out “whodunit.” Costumes are not allowed.

The fee is $78 per person and includes a three-course meal, tax and
