Red or Black, both sparkle

Kaitlin Kehoe scored the lone goal for the Red Crush in the third

quarter to allow the Red Crush to tie the Black Knights in a Girls

under-12 AYSO Region 97 soccer game.

Strong defense was provided by Delanie Linden, Devyn Hartnett,

Claire Layton and Zoie Verrall and midfielders Jordan Granath,

Rebecca Slater and Kelly Clark played steady.

In Girls under-10 action:

* The Bratz 2, Blue Blasters 0

The Bratz improved to 7-2 with a win against the Blasters. Maria

Swift and Milena Buonanoce each scored goals and Madelaine Gallardo

had one assist.

Defensively, the Bratz were led by Claire Castillo, Sophia

Leveque, Alexandra Kehoe, Kelly Kindgren, Zoe Sanglerat and Katie

Escher.

* Team Quicksilver wins its final regular season game, 7-2, to go

undefeated.

* Blue Blasters 2, Breakers 1

Holly Kelly scored two goals as the Blasters edged the Breakers by

one goal.

Kelly scored her first goal off a pass from Veronica Seidner and

scored her second goal off a rebound from a defender after Stephanie

Verheyen kept the ball in the Breakers’ end.

Kate Batstone, Charlotte Skjonsby and Natalie Swift held the

Breakers to one goal and Reann Nathan and Jamie Fredrickson shared

goalkeeper duties. Forwards Cindy Mejia and Amanda Peterson pelted

the Breakers’ goalkeeper with several shots each.

* Stingers 4, Teal Tigers 1

Makena Owen scored the lone goal for the Tigers with solid

ball-handling coming from Mary Yeager, Britany Stair and Kristi

Drake. Tabitha Goff and Addison Richley both played goalkeeper and

blocked several Stinger shots and the Tiger defense was led by

Delaney Bell, Abby Michaelson and Sadye Busby.

In Girls under-8 action:

* Bluewater Dolphins vs. Orange Tigers

Bluewater’s offensive team was led by Ingrid Peralta and Konner

Speth and goalkeeper Kari Hancock led the defense. Hancock was

assisted by aggressive play of defenders Maddie Collins and Vanessa

Seznol.

* Mighty Tigers vs. Blue Dolphins

The Mighty Tigers’ Gianna Light scored her first goal of the

season and Sarah Zomaya scored another goal in the second half.

Samantha Sanchez, Lexi DeSantis, Alison Palaferri and Jenna

Castillo held off the Dolphin attackers.

* The Zooming Zebras received a strong team effort from Cinnamon

Sary and Hanna Mumm on offense with an assist from Kiani Crivello.

Nicole Fitzsimmons, Delaney McCardle and Catherine Boettner held the

opposing team at-bay as goalkeepers. Catherine Connelly and Sally

Fuller took shots on goal and Sarah Daly, Sara Hamilton and Taylor

Powers held strong on defense.

In Girls under-7 action:

* Firecrackers vs. Mustangs

Firecracker goals were scored by Analysa Vivanco and Andie Strode

with support coming from Cortlynn Clement, Alana Courier, Emily

Conant, Rosalie Deliz, Katie Donald, Diana Fujii, Savannah Gardner

and Hailey Oberst.

In Girls under-6 action:

* The Green Girlillas played aggressively with Peyton Espley

Jones scoring two goals and Ashley Ammerman and Haley Heesch both

scoring one goal apiece.

Jaynie Hexberg ran both ends of the field stopping several scoring

opportunities and Libby Knight also played both ends of the field,

hustling to stop breakaways and Lila McElroy denied many scoring

opportunities.

* Lollipops vs. Silver Dolphins

Abbey Pickett and Alyssa Quintero scored goals for the Silver

Dolphins with assists by Rowan Frederiksen, Amanda Sheppard and Gabby

Mangano and Carlee Kapana delivered a goal through a midfielder’s

legs and Mackenzie Gaddis added the final goal.

Kelly McFetters and Kate Pipkin diverted several breakaway

attempts on goal.

Rachel Whitelegge didn’t play but hopes to be back for this week’s

game.

* Silver Mustangs vs. Firecrackers

The Firecrackers led in the first half, but the Silver Mustangs

were able to hold the Firecrackers at bay in the second half. Silver

Mustangs’ goalkeepers Sara Button, Jackie Jones, Lily Chavis and

Emily Flores played steady. Alison Hanle scored her first two goals

of the season, on assists from Dani Blackman and Bailey Rieke. Kate

McFetters assisted Makena Look onthe first goal.
