Raiders and Poison Ivy duel

The Scarlet Raiders played aggressively against the Poison Ivy,

receiving strong defensive play from Theresa Pfeifer, Deanna

Henrikson, Emily Olson and Alexa Levin, in a Girls under-12 AYSO

Region 120 soccer game.

Lauren Sullivan and Beka Ross played strong on offense, driving

the ball deep toward the Poison Ivy goal.

In Girls under-10 play:

* The Strike Force and Mustangs battled with the Strike Force’s

Kelsey Johnson scoring two goals and Tracy Wigmore and Jillian Tanner

both tallying single goals on passes from Kinsey Aherne and Sara Ray.

Sara Gilbert scored one goal in the game’s final minutes.

The Mustangs’ defense held strong.

The Strike Force defensive unit of Maddy Schwartz, Maryiam Barkho,

Vanessa Dorado and Shanay Fischer held the Mustangs scoreless.

In Girls under-8 play:

* The Purple Ponies scored the only goal of a game against the

Orange Ruffles.

Maddie Deutsch scored for the Ponies and the defense was led by

Tanith Kime, Tayla Woodbury and Paige Strabala, who helped maintain

the shutout, blocking many attempts in the goal area.

In Girls under-6 play:

* The Glitter Girls battled the Pink Dolphins with Daniella

Amador, Jillian Cathey and Faith Nakamoto all scoring goals for the

Glitter Girls.

Jennifer Valdez played strong defense and Vanessa Rosario, Lizbeth

Chavez and Cassandra Gonzalez moved the ball downfield.
