Bucs bounce back, 68-54

Orange Coast College freshman forward Alisa Carrillo was 12 of 12

from the free-throw line and 5 of 6 from the field to finish with a

game-high 22 points and lead the Pirates to a 68-54 women’s

basketball victory over Mt. San Antonio in the third-place game of

the OCC Tip-Off Tournament Sunday.

Freshman guard Liz Mendoza added 18 points for the winners (2-1),

who lost to eventual tournament champion San Joaquin Delta in

Saturday’s semifinals.

Both Carrillo and Mendoza were named to the all-tournament team.

The Pirates return to action Thursday with a 4 p.m. game at Santa

Barbara.
