‘Santa Clause 2’ will help get you into the spirit early
In the movie “The Santa Clause,” Tim Allen’s character, Scott,
becomes the new Santa after his predecessor accidentally crashes into
Scott’s roof and dies while delivering toys to his son.
With 28 days left until Christmas, the newest Santa at the North
Pole (Allen) is quite busy supervising the elves and hammering out
problems with the toys coming off the assembly line at the last
minute. The task at hand requires all of Santa’s time and attention,
but it seems that among the fine print in the Santa Claus contract is
yet another obligation.
Santa has to get married before Dec. 25 or he will be replaced.
Santa doesn’t have a choice. With each passing day he grows thinner
and starts losing his beard, looking more like his old everyday self.
Sent off with just enough magic to get him back to his old life,
married and then back to the North Pole, Scott enlists the help of
his ex-wife to help him accomplish the mission, but trouble with
their son at school quickly brings a halt to Scott’s search for a
wife. It’s a story for the big kids (adults) to watch and enjoy.
For the little kids watching “The Santa Clause 2,” the action back
at the North Pole holds greater interest and fun. A life-like toy
Santa has been created to stay behind and keep morale high among the
elves working around the clock to meet deadline. The duplicated
Santa, however, runs amok, taking his duties a little too seriously
after checking out the list of children who have been naughty or
nice. Throughout all the trials and obstacles, “The Santa Clause 2”
creates the spirit of Christmas for kids of all ages, reminding
everyone it’s the thought and spirit that matters most, not the gift.
“The Santa Clause 2” is a clever and welcome addition to the
growing list of Christmas movies and a great way to get into the
Christmas mood earlier to enjoy the season longer.
