Wings’ defense tightens on Slugs
Avi Press and the Wings defense were at the top of their game last
weekend as they prevented the Slugs from scoring in a 5-0 victory in
Campbell Division play.
Press needed 10 saves to get the shut-out.
The Wings’ offense consisted of two goals by Max Olin, a goal and
an assist by Aaron Baca-Chavez and one goal by Ryan Voorhies.
IN OTHER GAMES:
Jokers 9, Madder Dogs 3
Dylan Zeglovich led the Jokers with three goals and matched that
output by assisting three other goals.
Ty Barbo recorded 13 saves.
David Mastro netted two goals, and Maggie Prizler scored once for
the Madder Dogs.
Panthers 4, Slapshots 1
The Panthers led, 2-1, through one period of play, and shut out
the Slapshots the rest of the way.
Jason Saenz scored the Panthers’ final two goals to lead all
scorers, Preston Richardson scored once and Steven Sallack, Jacob
Ibbotson and Dylan Luther each had an assist.
Anthony Genovese finished with 12 saves.
Stars 2, Panthers 1
Dustin Chargaulaf and David Mastro each scored unassisted goals
for the Stars, and Zachary Beko had nine saves.
Dane Chavez scored unassisted, and Hamilton Bretherton finished
with 10 saves to lead the Vipers.
