Baseball camps set for December

Two-time Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year John

Altobelli, who coaches baseball for the Pirates, and with the Newport

Harbor Baseball Association, will hold two sessions of youth winter

baseball camps at Newport Harbor High School’s varsity baseball field

in December.

The sessions will run Dec. 23-24 from 9 a.m. to noon and Dec.

26-27 at the same time.

The camps are open to players ages 5 to 11 and teaches skills such

as throwing, catching, base running and hitting strategies.

There will also be contests, trivia games and competitions.

Snacks will be served but players should bring water.

Registration costs $100 for NHBA members and includes a cap and

T-shirt and $115 for nonmembers.

One day of camp costs $125 for NHBA members and $140 for

nonmembers with discounts given to two or more players of $90 for

association members and $120 for nonmembers.
