St. Mark Presbyterian Church will host its annual Alternative

Christmas Market from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. The market

supports Third-World craft producers and projects such as Habitat for

Humanity and offers an alternative way to experience Christmas

UNITARIAN SPEAKER

The Rev. William G. Sinkford, president of the Unitarian

Universalist Assn., will be a special guest speaker at the 9:15 and

11 a.m. Sunday services of the Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist

Church, 1259 Victoria St., Costa Mesa. Sinkford became the first

HANUKKAH FEST

Chabad Jewish Center of Newport Beach will hold its annual

Hanukkah Festival at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Bloomingdale’s Courtyard

at Fashion Island, Newport Center Drive, Newport Beach. There will be

a children’s choir, clowns, food and a giant menorah carved from ice.

CAROLS FOR ADVENT

St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church will present “Lessons

and Carols for the Advent” at 5 p.m. Dec. 1 as part of its First

TRIPLE TREAT

Reservations are now being taken for the interfaith

Christmas-Hanukkah- Ramadan-Eid Celebration being held from 4:45 to

8:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,

2150 Bonita Canyon Road, Newport Beach. The program will include

Muslim evening prayers, an interfaith program discussing holiday

traditions and an international dinner. Participating religious

leaders are Father Will Crist, Episcopalian; Rabbi Richard Steinberg;

‘CHANUKAH ROCKS’

The eighth annual Orange County Hanukkah concert, “Chanukah

Rocks,” will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Orange County Performing

Arts Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. The concert will

feature 12 cantors and choirs from Orange County synagogues and day

schools. A pre-show will be held in the lobby at 1:30 p.m. $18 to $36

for adults, $9 for children. Patron tickets, at $125, entitle ticket

holders to a dairy dinner at the Center Club after the performance.

‘A MOMENT IN TIME’

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will present “A Moment in Time”

at 4 and 7 p.m. Dec. 8 and 15. The Christmas presentation will

feature performances by the church’s 100-voice Sanctuary Choir and a
