Charges against Wendy Leece false

As a former Newport-Mesa Unified School District certificated

employee (1966-2002), I would like to clarify a disappointing

statement regarding Wendy Leece that I recently read in the Daily

Pilot.

Stephen Leece enrolled, attended and graduated from the district’

Middle College High School at Orange Coast College. As the principal

of the Middle College High School, I was proud of Stephen’s academic

accomplishments and his personal demeanor. He was cooperative,

responsible and respectful of his teachers and fellow students.

His mother, Wendy, was a supportive parent and an active member of

the PTSA. Wendy Leece always conducted herself as a caring parent and

a helpful school board member. She attended numerous meetings and

school events, but only when invited. She was a supportive parent who

never asked for favors or to use her influence as a board member.

As a principal, I considered Wendy Leece an asset to the Middle

College High School.
