UCI captures season opener

Lisa Faulkner scored a career-high 22 points Monday night as the

UC Irvine women’s basketball team defeated visiting Centenary, 72-56,

in the Anteaters’ season opener.

Faulkner sank 7 of 13 from the field, including four

three-pointers, while teammate Christina Callaway recorded her second

career double-double with a career-tying 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Kristen Green scored 14 points and freshman Lauren Yadon added 10.

Centenary fell to 0-3.
