Members of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s CM900 Club donated

food to 150 local families Tuesday morning as part of its fourth

annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The donations included turkeys and boxes of food that could

provide complete Thanksgiving meals for families of eight.

At 9:30 a.m., members brought the donated items to the Shalimar

Learning Center in cars and trucks. By 10 a.m., the food -- aside

from turkey, it included cranberry sauce, salsa and tamales -- was

organized for distribution to families that both the learning center

and Save Our Youth staff members identified as recipients. Rides were

given to those who couldn’t walk all of their food home.

The food was made possible by CM900 Club member donations and

contributions and discounts from businesses, including South Coast

Plaza, Stater Bros. Markets, Smart & Final, Harbor Center, C.J.

Segerstrom & Sons, Newport Rib. Co., Golden Truffle, Orange County

Market Place, Theodore Robins Ford, Orange Coast Jeep & Dodge,

Penjoyan Produce and Pioneer Packing.

The CM900 Club works to reach out to the community on behalf of

local businesses.
