Local leaders share their Thanksgiving Day thoughts
First I want to thank my husband, Sid, and my family for their
love. I give thanks every day that I live in a country that respects
individual rights and freedom. Most important, I want to thank the
people who took the time to vote in the last election. Their support
for education will have a profound effect on future generations. A
special thanks goes to all the teachers, administrators, support
staff and parent volunteers who work endless hours to educate our
children.
Last, I want to thank the children in our communities who bring so
much happiness to our lives.

I am thankful for my good health and thankful that I am blessed
with such a wonderful wife.
STEVE BROMBERG
Newport Beach City
Councilman
I am most thankful for my supportive and understanding wife,
Barbara, who carries the parenting load with our sons and runs our
household smoothly and patiently listens to my angst of public
office, to the Gary and Jan Stark family who watch after us often,
and personally for the chance to sometimes help and often to be
inspired by my family, our friends and this community.
JOHN HEFFERNAN
Newport Beach City
Councilman
Above all, I’m thankful for my wife, Birgitt, and our two precious
sons, Nick and Max. I’m also thankful for being able to provide for
them. We have a great life here in Newport Beach with many great
friends. We count our blessings every day.
GARY ADAMS
Newport Beach City
Councilman
I am thankful for my family and friends, who have always been
there for me. I am thankful that I live in a community that values
the public school education that is provided to all of the students
who attend our schools. I am thankful that I am an American, who
lives in a nation which values freedom and is willing to defend the
freedom of each and everyone of its citizens. Happy Thanksgiving to
one and all who live in our communities.
