CdM, Tars earn respect

Corona del Mar High is the top-ranked girls water polo team in

Division II, while Newport Harbor is No. 2 in Division I in preseason

polls released by the CIF Southern Section.

Newport Harbor is behind only Foothill, which joins the Sailors in

the Sea View League this year after winning the CIF Division I crown

last year representing the Century League.

Corona del Mar, CIF Division IV champion a year ago, sits atop No.

2 Villa Park and No. 3 University, which will battle the Sea Kings

for the Pacific Coast League championship.
