City hoop signups begin Saturday

Huntington Beach Youth Basketball will begin taking registration

for its 2003 season Saturday at Murdy Community Center, The City Gym

Pool and Edison Community Center.

The league is open to boys and girls in grades first through

eighth, and additional signups may be accepted if the league permits.

The fee is $35 per player and includes a team shirt.

Registration will continue on a daily basis until Jan. 11.

Evaluations and practice games are scheduled to begin Jan 11, 18

and 25. Games will be played Saturdays beginning Feb. 1, and the

regular season will end on March 8.

Playoff games tentatively are scheduled for March 15 and 22.

Girls’ softball signups Saturday

Huntington Beach Girls’ Softball will hold signups for its

upcoming season on Saturday at Circle View Elementary School.

The cost per player is as follows: 6-and-under Division (T-Ball),

$70; 8-, 10- and 12-and-under divisions, $95; and 14-and-under, $100.

The fee includes a player’s trophies, pictures, insurance, uniform

and yearbook.

Player evaluations will take place Jan. 18.

Opening Day is set for Feb. 22, 2003, at 9 a.m.

The league will hold one final registration date on Jan. 4. A $10

late fee will be added for all registration taken after that date.

All players who register after Jan. 4 will be placed on a waiting

list and will be subject to space availability in the league.

Seaview signups to be held Tuesday

Seaview Little League will hold its final registration period of

the year from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the league’s clubhouse.

Any player who registers after this date will be subject to a late

fee.

Players are required to bring a birth certificate and proof of

residence.

The league’s clubhouse is at the old Le Bard School site, 20451

Craimer Lane in Huntington Beach.
