Separate collisions clog Coast Highway
Police and firefighters were called to two traffic collisions that
occurred within minutes of each other on South Coast Highway
Thursday.
Officers were first called to a rear-end collision involving two
cars on South Coast Highway and Legion Street at about 9:10 a.m. The
No. 1 southbound lane was shut down and traffic was congested through
Downtown. The driver of the vehicle that had been hit complained of
neck pain and was treated by firefighters before she was transported
to the hospital.
However, just one stoplight away, a non-injury collision occurred
at Cleo Street that shut down the No. 2 southbound lane. Three cars
were involved. The cause had not yet been determined at press time.
