CdM falls, 43-39, to host Western

Corona del Mar High senior Kelliann Klein scored a game-high 18

points, but the Sea Kings’ girls basketball team lost, 43-39, to

Western in the second round of pool play of the Western Tournament

Wednesday.

CdM senior Madison Otterbein added 13 points.

“We had a chance to win it,” CdM Coach James Barkalow said.

“The girls gave me everything they had. We just came on the wrong

side of it. The girls played great defense.”

The Sea Kings (0-3) resume pool play action in the Western

Tournament Friday with a 4:30 p.m. game against Rancho Alamitos.
