Boater’s World Marine Center

will host a two-part seminar given by Paul Busher of the Coast

Guard Auxiliary at 2 p.m. He will cover how to enter waypoints and

how to set up a global positioning system. The seminar will cost is

Golden West College will

present a class on warm stone massage therapy. Students will learn

the techniques at a one-day seminar presented by Joe Steffen,

acupuncturist and massage therapist. The class costs $99 plus a

supplies fee of $4. The class will meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at

15744 Goldenwest St., Community Center 103. The closest parking is in

Friends of the Shipley Nature

Center will host a talk by landscape architect Guy Stivers. He

will discuss the latest design for the center from 9 to 10 a.m. at

the Huntington Beach Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. Room E. There

will also be a talk about weed management at the Shipley center.

The League of Women Voters

of Orange Coast will hold its Holiday Lights Membership Social

from 4 to 7 p.m. at a waterfront home in Huntington Harbor. The

league will celebrate 41 years of service to the community.

Capt. Robert Seybold at 2 p.m. He will talk about batteries and

CIVIC GROUPS

The Huntington Beach Host Lions Club meet at 7 p.m. every first

and third Thursday of the month at Meadowlark Golf Course Club House,

16782 Graham St. The club’s purpose is to create and foster a spirit

of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing

voluntary service through community involvement and international

The Huntington Beach American Legion Post 133 meets the third

Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Rodgers Seniors’ Center,

1706 Orange Ave. (corner of 17th Street and Orange Avenue). The

Women’s Auxiliary Unit 133 meets at the same time at the same place.

The Friends of the Shipley Nature Center invites new members to

join. The group meets every second Saturday of the month to discuss

restoration of the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach Central
