Chargers can’t catch strong Anaheim Hills

HB South led for most of its game last Sunday against Anaheim

Hills, but the Chargers saw that lead slip away and ended up on the

short end of a 40-37 score in a boys’ sixth-grade All-Net game.

Anaheim Hills had battled back to take a three-point lead with 30

seconds remaining and with just seconds left on the clock, the

Chargers’ Sam Lacavera launched a three-point shot.

Lacavera nearly tied the game, but his shot rattled in and out of

the rim, allowing Anaheim Hills to escape with the victory.

HB South’s Cole Farmer turned in a strong performance and led all

scorers with 15 points.

Terry Zant hit some key baskets and finished with seven points,

and Sean Guite contributed four points.

It was the first loss of the season for Huntington Beach, which

opened its 2002-03 campaign last weekend with a win over Fullerton.
