Cindy is a 13-year-old golden retriever whose family is unable to
take care of her any longer and is hoping to give her to a loving
home on either a temporary or permanent basis, said DiAnna
Pfaff-Martin, founder of the Community Animal Network.
The dog’s family has agreed that if someone will take her in for a
year, they will pay for any veterinary care she may need,
Pfaff-Martin said.
Helping out this family is just one of the ways the
community-supported animal organization aims to help local animals,
she said.
“Your dollars allow us to help local animals,” Pfaff-Martin said.
“A rescue animal needing surgery or vet medical treatments that can
save a life costs about $300. About $25 can feed four abandoned
kittens for a week.
“Together we “C.A.N” [Community Animal Network] make a
difference,” she said.
While the organization is always in need of donations, it is also
in a constant search for adoptive and foster families for animals,
such as the Christmas kittens, which are still available.
