Slickshoes eliminate Phantoms

Ethan Loy posted three goals last weekend and the Slickshoes

advanced in Norris Division postseason tournament play by virtue of a

6-2 victory over the Phantoms.

Kristian Burkhardt scored once and assisted three other goals,

Andrew Mendoza scored once with an assist, Neal Macpherson scored

once, and Loy collected an assist for the No. 3 seed Slickshoes.

Troy Logins recorded 26 saves.

Eric Newfield scored both goals for the sixth-seeded Phantoms.

Christian Riechert had 25 saves.

In other Norris playoff action:

The Sting 2, Kings 0

Justin Bracamontes had 17 saves and was backed by a staunch

defense that helped The Sting get the shutout and advance in

tournament play.

Jacob Sabraw scored in the first period, and Christian Mohl scored

an insurance goal off a Harry Ellis feed in the third period for The

Sting, the No. 10 seed.

Brad Murchison finished with 14 saves for the seventh-seeded

Kings.

Red Lazers 3, Chiefs 1

Scott Mulder netted a pair of goals to lead the No. 4 seed, Red

Lazers.

Jacob Trani scored once, Luis Concepcion had an assist, and Matt

Bodziak came up with 20 saves for the winners.

Riley Rodriguez scored unassisted, and Jacob Otis also had 20

saves for the fifth-seeded Chiefs.

Booyahs 7, Ice Dogs 3

Bryan Hodges scored five of his team’s first six goals as the

ninth-seeded Booyahs remained in the hunt for the division title.

Matthew Mahony scored the other two Booyahs goals, one off an

assist from Matthew Deaner, and Zachary Peterson assisted on four of

the Booyahs first six goals.

Ian Arnold recorded 27 saves.

The eighth-seeded Ice Dogs received two goals and an assist from

Ryan Schlerf, one goal from Dillon Chang, and an assist from Jeffrey

Hing.

Eric Aguayo’s busy game in the net included 29 saves.
