Kathy and John Hamilton of Corona del Mar announce the engagement

of their daughter, Jill Christine Hamilton of Corona del Mar, to

Black Cameron Bertea of Corona del Mar.

The bride-elected graduated from Corona del Mar High School and

the University of Southern California.

The future bridegroom, son of Hyla and Richard Bertea of Corona

del Mar, graduated from Corona del Mar High School and the University

of Colorado.

A May 10 wedding is planned in the Laguna Presbyterian Church in

Laguna Beach.

Thomas-Alyea

William and Carole Thomas of Newport Beach announce the engagement

of their daughter, Karen Elizabeth Thomas of Berkeley to Garret

Merselis Alyea of Berkeley.

The daughter graduated from Corona del Mar High School and

Princeton University in New Jersey. She later earned her doctorate in

chemical engineering from UC Berkeley.

The future bridegroom, son of David and Sandy Alyea of

Bloomington, Ind., graduated from high school in Bloomington. He also

graduated from Princeton University.

A June 2003 wedding is planned in Berkeley.
