Semifinals for Hotspurs

The Corona del Mar Hotspurs advanced to the semifinals of the

15-team AYSO Region 57 girls under-11 APP Plus soccer tournament with

wins over Laguna Niguel (3-1), Rancho Santa Margarita (1-0) and Yorba

Linda (1-0).

Mission Viejo scored two goals in the final five minutes to defeat

Corona in the semifinals and eventually won the tournament

championship.

Goals were scored by Sydney Brombal, Katie Deverian and Hayley

Raguse with offensive assistance coming from Maddie Simmonds and

Brooke DeMiranda.

Goalkeeper Sarah Folks made some strong saves and Bayli Stefl,

Nikki Flinn, Kyla Winkle and Laura Fleming led a solid defense.

Midfielders Isa Taskinen, Hannah Stuart and Kelly Feeley

controlled play at their positions.
