Four Sea Kings first-team All-PCL

Corona del Mar High senior twin brothers Matt and Kris Cooper are

among four Sea King football players named first-team All-Pacific

Coast League by the circuit’s coaches.

Matt Cooper, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound fullback, was selected

primarily for his blocking, joining senior teammate John Daley, a

versatile lineman, on the first-team offense.

Kris Cooper, a 6-2, 215-pound senior outside linebacker, who will

continue his career along with his brother next fall at Georgetown,

is joined on the first-team defense by senior safety K.C. Rawlins.

Matt Cooper and Daley were second-team all-league honorees as

juniors.

Representing CdM on this year’s second team are senior defensive

lineman Jayson Skalla, senior inside linebackers Jason Kidushim and

Matt Warsaw, junior cornerback Mordy Ornguze, junior offensive tackle

Andy Lujan and sophomore wide receiver Kevin Welch.

Skalla was a first-team all-league selection as a junior.

Senior quarterbacks Kyle Harper (Northwood) and Terry Mermer

(Calvary Chapel) share Offensive MVP honors, while Northwood safety

Brian Fairbanks is the Defensive MVP after helping the Timberwolves

post their second straight 5-0 league record.
