BEST BUYS

Bubbles of Laguna owner Kathy Wilkinson helped create the new Shop

and Dine Laguna night that happens from 5 to 9 p.m. every third

Thursday. It’s similar to Laguna’s ArtWalk, but this is for merchants

and restaurants. Seventy participating retailers and restaurants

offer specials, discounts and promotions. Bubbles of Laguna Bath and

Body Shop is where you’ll find an incredible selection of soaps and

candles. Connoisseurs can find French milled, tripled milled,

glycerin, supper-fatted, shea butter and seaweed soaps. Bubbles

customers love the Crabtree and Evelyn products, Mistral and Pre de

Provence soaps, Roger and Gallet shower gel, Get Fresh spa products,

and the Rigaud candles. Fun soaps are the novelty body detergents

(mini-boxes of laundry detergent) designed to wash away obsessive

compulsive behaviors, shop-aholic syndromes and premenstrual

symptoms. There are even detergents for Goddesses, Super Dads and

Super Moms. The Ergo candles are great. they’re made of soy wax,

they’re soot free and they come in fresh bamboo, Mandarin vanilla,

pear vanilla and pink grapefruit scents. Kids love the bath ice

cream, a scoop of bath soda that fizzes and releases minerals and

fragrances in the water. Open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through

Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. 445 S.

Coast Highway. (949) 494-1417.

HAND-CRAFTED FINE ARTWORK

The Golden Egg Gallery and Gifts specializes in contemporary

hand-crafted glass and jewelry. It represents artists from all over

the country. Prices range from $15 for small gifts to $700 for

collector pieces.

“Our philosophy is to offer high quality fine artwork and keep

prices fair, always,” co-owner Oscar Llugar says. “We never have

sales.”

A big selection of jewelry is made from bronze, sterling,

iridescent fused glass, amber and turquoise. The glass selection

includes sculptures, paperweights, vases and bowls. Hard-to-find

pieces include a German radiometer, a mini-hand blown solar power

plant; fused glass clocks; kaleidoscopes; and pens made of

hand-turned wood. Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through

Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m.

EUROPEAN STYLE AT IVEE BOUTIQUE

The Ivee Boutique is having a 50% off sale and always has fashion

bargains for women. When owner Nader Jenabi selects clothing for the

Ivee Boutique he considers fabrics and quality and chooses fashions

that are current in Europe.

“We’re a little bit ahead of the game,” Jenabi says. “Our colors

and styles are very European.”

Jenabi also buys clothing that is similar to designer styles.

“Our leather jackets are like the Gucci design,” Jenabi says.

The Ivee appeals to locals; junior sizes; and Jenabi says he has

something for everyone -- shoes, handbags, belts and accessories,

too. All shoes are reduced to $26.99. Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
