“Seussical the Musical” will read Dr. Seuss stories aloud at 11 a.m.

during a special story time at Borders Books, Music & Cafe, South

2Last chance to see this. “Portraits from the Golden Age of Jazz,”

a series of photographs by William Gottlieb, will be on display at

the Orange County Museum of Art’s Satellite Gallery through Sunday.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to

7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The gallery is at

3Send kids to camp. Costa Mesa Recreation Division will hold a

“Winter Camp Costa Mesa” Monday to Friday as an affordable place for

children ages 6 to 12 to go during winter break. The camp will

include games, arts and crafts, and mini-excursions to local venues.

$72 per week for regular hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and $88 per week

for extended hours (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) per child.

TUESDAY

4It’s party time. The Hard Rock Cafe and Star 98.7 FM will host a

New Year’s bash from 7 p.m. till closing that will feature a mishmash

of live entertainment and DJ mixes. People can enjoy champagne

toasts, party favors and music till 2003. The cafe is at 451 Newport

5 Wright in the new year. The Orange County Museum of Art will

present “Light Screens: The Leaded Glass of Frank Lloyd Wright”

through Jan. 5 at 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach. Museum hours

seniors and students, and free for members and children younger than
