ON THE AGENDA

HUSCROFT HOUSE

The city’s public services director will advise the City Council

to transfer ownership of the Huscroft House to 126 Properties, LLC.

and pay the company $30,000. The company’s owner, John Morehart, said

he intends to move the dilapidated house to a Westside property he

owns at 548 Bernard St.

This would spare the house from demolition, which was due since

the city had found no buyers for the 1915 Craftsman-style house. If

the agreement is approved Monday, it would serve as a preliminary

step for the transfer. Morehart would still have to seek Planning

Commission approval, though.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The council is expected to approve the transfer and payment.

REQUEST FOR SWAP MEET REHEARING

Paul Wilbur, who appealed the Planning Commission’s decision to

extend the swap meet at Orange Coast College to Saturday and Sunday,

has now asked for a rehearing because he said he believes the

director of finance did not conduct an investigation or notify the

State Board of Equalization for a report on the swap meet’s revenue.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The council is expected to reject the rehearing on the grounds

that there is no new, relevant evidence to warrant a rehearing.

WESTSIDE COMMITTEE SUGGESTIONS:

The council will consider a request from the Community

Redevelopment Action Committee for a substantive analysis of the

Bluffs General Plan Amendment/Rezone.

The council will also consider a West 19th Street Bridge study.

The study will analyze both the potential economic impacts of a

bridge extension and “quality of life” issues and impacts on the

Westside.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The council is expected to approve the proposal for the bluffs

amendment and rezone project and approve the study of West 19th

Street bridge impacts.
