Wilson Jr.

Joseph A. Wilson Jr. died Jan. 6. He was 88.

He lived most of his life in the coastal communities of Orange

County, most recently in Corona del Mar, and was a graduate of the

first graduating class of Newport Harbor High School.

Mr. Wilson is remembered for his body surfing, participation in

community theater, a commitment to the arts -- he was a Pageant of

the Masters volunteer -- and a love for singing. He and his wife,

Bonnie, performed together in a family ensemble that featured

Hawaiian music and dance.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Sr.; mother, Helen

and wife, Bonnie. He is survived by his sister Virginia; children

Jacquelynne, Joseph III and Deborah; grandchildren Todd Moffett, Dr.

Kristofer Moffett, Tasha Wilson, Joseph, Caitlin and Jon

Christianson; and “the Modern Major General.”
