Donnely Cup awaits Anteater players, coaches

Seven current or former UC Irvine players as well as head coach

George Kuntz and assistant coach Chris Volk are members of the

California South State Amateur Association team that is one of the

four finalists playing in the three-day Donnely Cup in Ft.

Lauderdale, Fla., starting today.

The team is composed of many of the top amateur players in the Far

West Region including UC Irvine’s Cameron Rossi, Jason Thompson,

Chris Ruiz, Anthony Vizcarra, Saul Wolf, Jon Spencer and Oliver

Zlomislic.

The team captured the West Regional Championship for the U.S.

Amateur Association, beating Oregon, Cal-North, Utah, and tying

Washington to win the title. The other regional finalists are

Connecticut, North Texas and Nebraska.
