Azusa Pacific’s No. 5-ranked NAIA men’s basketball team showed its

stuff Saturday night at Vanguard University, capturing a 111-89

verdict with seven players in double figures, led by Caleb Gervin (20

points, including 4 for 6 from three-point territory, and Brett

Michel (17 points, including 5 for 5 with threes).

Overall Azusa Pacific netted 65.5% from the field in improving to

15-2, 7-0 in the Golden State Athletic Conference. Vanguard (5-12,

1-6), with seven in double figures, was paced by James Hartman (22

points).
