WHAT HAPPENED: The school board approved...

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board approved Priority Three Projects and the proposed

budget allocations for Laguna Beach High School totaling an estimated

$3,149,885 based on additional state modernization funds approved

under Proposition 47.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The projects include landscaping and hardscaping at the high

school, reworking the baseball field, modernization of the North and

Dugger gyms, remodeling the administrative building to fulfill

American Disabilities Act requirements and adding fixed seats at the

football stadium.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board approved payments totaling $868,389 from the

General Obligation Bonds.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The payments cover various construction and engineering costs for

work performed at El Morro Elementary, Top of the World, Thurston

Middle and Laguna Beach High schools.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board approved an addendum to an independent contractor

agreement with UCMI, Inc.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The addendum increases funding by an additional not-to-exceed

amount of $30,000 to perform on site and off site material testing

and inspections related to grading activities at El Morro Elementary

School. The funds will be paid for from the Laguna Beach Unified

School District Contingency funds.

WHAT HAPPENED:

The school board ratified the contract of services with Allied

Fence Co. and Supplies, Inc.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The company will provide and install athletic field equipment at

El Morro Elementary School for a cost not to exceed $13,015. The

money will come from Unforeseen Construction costs, which has a

current budget balance of $20,837.
