Stars rule Kings in 3-1 roller hockey contest

Jeffrey Beko posted two goals and Joseph Thielen had two assists

to lead the Stars past the Kings, 3-1, in a Campbell Division match

played at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

The Stars first got on the scoreboard when Thielen fed Hunter Koon

for a first period score.

Beko scored the match’s final two goals.

His brother, Zachary, had a big game in goal with 20 saves.

The only score Zachary Beko yielded was an unassisted first-period

goal to Bryce King.

Stingrays 3, Nightmares 2

Trevor Murphy scored off a Connor Johnston assist in the final

period to lift the Stingrays to victory.

It was the second assist of the game for Johnston, who set up Jake

Grothjan’s first-period goal.

Johnston also scored unassisted in the second quarter.

Dane Chavez recorded the win with 17 saves.

Kevin Romano and Ryan Humphrey each scored, and Abby Masters had

an assist for the Nightmares.

Blitz 5, Madder Dogs 3

Five players scored, the Blitz posting three goals in the final

period to overcome a 3-2 deficit.

Jeremy Treskes, Jacob Ibbotson, Ryan Miller, Brandon Miller and

Paige Gast scored for the Blitz, and Jacob Rosser finished with 13

saves.

For the Madder Dogs, Sean Mastro, Brett Berns and Shaun Beideman

all scored and Trevor Millikan had 13 saves.

Panthers 3, Jokers 3

Each team scored one goal in each period in this evenly played

match that ended in a tie.

Steven Sallack and Alex Covert scored, and Steven Rousseau had an

assist for the Panthers. Tanner Chang had 14 saves.

The Jokers received goals from Brandon Albertson and Shane Johnson

and 16 saves by Joshua Swafford.
