* WOMEN’S WATER POLO: UC Irvine won two games Sunday and wound up
10th at the UC San Diego Arena Invitational.
The Anteaters defeated Cal Baptist, 8-4, and also earned a 10-3
triumph over Arizona State.
Erica Horman scored a team-high four goals against ASU and joined
UCI teammates Melissa Fernandez and Rebecca Wedemeyer with two goals
apiece against Cal Baptist.
The two wins upped the Anteaters’ record to 4-2. Sunceray Chamblee
had six saves for UCI against Cal Baptist.
Long Beach State won the two-day tournament.
‘Eaters split in Oregon
* WOMEN’S TENNIS: UC Irvine won the doubles point, but was swept
in singles to drop a 6-1 nonconference decision Sunday to host
Oregon, ranked No. 49.
Tiffany Chang and Jenny Bowman won their doubles set, 9-7, while
Hui Leow and Amy Tranckino were 8-4 winners in doubles for the
visitors (3-3).
UCI defeated Portland, 6-1, Saturday, also in Eugene.
Chang, Bowman, Anna Bentzer and Hui Leow all won in singles and
doubles.
