OCC men win, 74-71

Orange Coast College’s men’s basketball team saw a 44-30 lead with

18:45 left melt to 49-49, but held on to post a 74-71 Orange Empire

Conference victory Wednesday night at Cypress.

Stephon Seales hit two free throws with 0:48 left to push the lead

to 74-68 for OCC (18-11, 6-5). Kevin Cook of Cypress hit a

three-pointer and the hosts (7-19, 2-9) had the ball with 3.5 seconds

left, but couldn’t get a shot off.

Aaron Bobik led OCC’s Pirates with 20 points. Seales had 16, Jason

Garey had 14 and Lanier Brown had 10.

The Pirates were outrebounded, 38-21.
