Anteaters slowed down at UOP, 57-53

UC Irvine’s women’s basketball team fell behind in the first half and

never fully recovered as host University of the Pacific recorded a

57-53 Big West Conference victory at Spanos Center.

Lauren Yadon (15) and Courtney Ferguson (12) were the only

Anteaters in double figures as UCI netted just 33.3% from the field

(18 for 54), and lost the board game, too, 36-30.

Lisa Faulkner had 9 points and 7 assists for the Anteaters.

Center Gillian d’Hondt, hitting 7 of 10, led the Tigers with 20

points.

The decisions leaves both teams 8-5 in the Big West. UCI is 15-9

overall, Pacific is 11-13.
