Storm goes distance to down Dirt Dawgs

In a close game that wasn’t decided until the final out, the Storm

emerged with a 4-3 victory over the Dirt Dawgs in a Huntington Beach

Girls Softball 12-and-under Division game played at Greer Park.

The Storm trailed, 3-0, but scored four consecutive runs to pull

out the win.

The game-winner was scored when Cristina Kuehn stole home in the

final inning.

Other Storm highlights included a bunt single by Jenny Pilecki, a

hit by Jasmine Lopez and a game-saving catch by Julia Kurpakus.

Kellie Cuadras overcame a sprained ankle to pitch a solid game for

Storm.

Tasia Kauffman gave an equally strong pitching performance for the

Dirt Dawgs.
