TUESDAY * Poplar Street: A resident in...

TUESDAY

* Poplar Street: A resident in the 500 block returned from a

business trip and found his Sparkletts water jug filled with coins

missing. Someone apparently broke in through the back door between

March 12 and Monday, and lugged out $3,050 worth of U.S. coins.

* Cliff Drive: A woman left her home in the 200 block for L.A.

International Airport between 6 and 7 a.m., but left her suitcase in

the back alley. When she realized her mistake, she drove home and

found the suitcase containing tapes, clothes, shoes, cosmetics and a

day planner full of her music compositions, missing.

MONDAY

* Glenneyre Street: A witness held a 22-year-old vandalizing

skateboarder under arrest at the corner of Glenneyre and Thalia

streets until police arrived. The witness saw the suspect strike the

rear end of a van at around 6:30 p.m., causing a small dent. The

suspect gave police a false name, and they arrested him for vandalism

and providing false information.

* Lower Cliff Drive: After responding to a 911 hang-up call, police arrested a husband and wife for domestic violence. Upon

arriving at their home in the 200 block, officers found both parties

with fresh facial injuries and determined they’d been fighting. The

couple has lived together at the house for four years, and police

have responded to similar incidents there in the past. Both were

arrested and held on $25,000 bail each.

* Wesley Drive: An employee at Anneliese’s preschool reported

that someone had broken in over the weekend and urinated in a child’s

toy bank. After entering an unlocked door, the person or persons made

a bed, ate some food and made an unwelcome deposit. The crime

occurred between the evening of March 14 and Monday morning.

* High Drive: Four vehicles parked in the 500 block were

vandalized between Saturday and Monday morning. A rock was apparently

used to make large scratches across the driver’s side of each

vehicle.

* South Coast Highway: A man caught urinating on the front wall

of Hotel Laguna expressed one ultimate sentiment: “I’m sorry officer,

please don’t put my name in the blotter.” Police arrested him on

misdemeanor warrants for DUI and driving with a suspended license.

His name will not appear in this blotter.

SUNDAY

* South Coast Highway: A teenager tried to leave a Ralph’s with a

bottle of alcohol down his pants, but an employee nabbed him and

called police at around 11:30 p.m. Two males appeared to be in on the

petty theft, but only the guy with the bottle in his pants received a

citation.

* Park Avenue: A car that had apparently been washed down the

street after Saturday’s storm was cited for illegal parking. Police

received a call from a resident at 6 a.m. reporting that the car was

blocking the road.

SATURDAY

Beach Street: Officers making a traffic stop found 17 grams of

marijuana on one of the car’s passengers. The man was issued a

misdemeanor citation at around 10 p.m. for possessing less than an

ounce of marijuana.

* South Coast Highway: A male reportedly stuck his hands down a

29-year-old woman’s pants in a club on the 600 block. She said the

two were merely talking before he started handling her aggressively.

She pushed him away, but he returned and made intimate contact before

she freed herself and fled, reporting the incident at around 8:30

p.m.

* Glenneyre Street: Police arrested a woman on felony burglary

charges at around 8:30 a.m. She’s being held on $100,000 bail.

MARCH 14

* Ocean Avenue: A man slapped another man in the face in the

bathroom at Ocean Brewing Company after accusing the victim of

staring at his girlfriend’s buttocks. The victim said that after the

suspect slapped him three times as he stood at the urinal, the

suspect ripped off his shirt and said, “Let’s go.” The victim, after

first thinking he had no chance against his larger opponent,

apparently changed his mind and tackled the suspect, punching his

face until he “could fight no longer.” The fight occurred at around

midnight.

* Pinecrest Drive: Someone reportedly stole a wallet from a car

parked in the 300 block containing $20. The crime was reported at

7:30 a.m.

* Skyline Drive: A man reported receiving a package from UPS

containing two hypodermic needles filled with an unknown substance at

3:55 p.m. The victim received the package from an acquaintance in

Arizona. Police are investigating the incident.

* Glenneyre Street: A woman reportedly jumped out of her car at a

stop sign and jumped in her ex-boyfriend’s car at the intersection of

Thalia Street and Glenneyre at 9:30 a.m. The ex-boyfriend said she

had a bag containing all the gifts he had given her during their

relationship, which had ended two months before. He physically

removed her from his vehicle and drove away.

* Cypress Drive: A 26-year-old woman claimed her 26-year-old

roommate had stolen $17,000 from various bank accounts between Dec. 2

and March 3. Before leaving for Mexico on vacation in December, the

victim provided her “friend” with personal information about her

finances. While away, the suspect reportedly took money from multiple

accounts and forged several of her roommate’s checks. The victim, who

reported her findings at 2:30 a.m., said she’d known the suspect for

five months.

MARCH 13

* South Coast Highway: Police arrested a suspect who’d reportedly

been spotted climbing into the window of a residence on the 31000

block after they found eight baggies full of marijuana and 39 more

containing marijuana residue on his person. A witness called police

at 8:30 p.m. to report the suspicious subject, a 25-year-old man.

When they arrived and questioned the suspect, he reportedly provided

several false statements in addition to making an apparent attempt to

sell marijuana. He said he was merely a soap-maker. The suspect was

arrested and taken to Orange County jail on $10,000 bail.

* Cress Street: Officers responded to a call of a diver in

distress at 8 p.m. A local resident pulled the victim, who was

mentally disturbed and hadn’t taken his medication, from the water

before police arrived. Officers took the victim to South Coast

Medical Center for evaluation.

* Canyon View Drive: A man having a new house built at the 1100

block complained to police that a neighbor from the street above

Canyon View had been harassing him. The neighbor is apparently

unhappy that the new house will obstruct his view when it’s

completed.

* Park Avenue: A student at Laguna Beach High School reported

that his 2001 Ford Mustang had been keyed in the parking lot at 11

a.m.

MARCH 12

* Cozumel Court: After checking his credit report, a man

discovered someone else had been racking up credit card debt and

receiving loans using his identity. The victim reported the crime,

which is under investigation, at 2 p.m.

* Broadway: An employee at Wild Oats reported that a suspect had

used a counterfeit $20 bill to police at noon. The employee

discovered the fake bill, submitted by a male, using a counterfeit

marker.

* Broadway: Someone entered a thrift shop on the 300 block

through a window and stole $15 from the cash register. The crime

occurred sometime between 5 p.m. March 11 and 9 a.m. March 12.

* Forest Avenue: Police arrested a 29-year-old San Clemente

resident on suspicion of being drunk in public after reportedly

spotting him urinating in an alley at 1:30 a.m.

MARCH 11

* Forest Avenue: After stopping a woman for speeding, police

arrested her for providing false information at around 7 p.m. She had

no driver’s license, and upon investigation, they discovered she had

provided false information. She was put in jail on $500 bail.
