Art Walk Studio Tour expanded to two days

Sixty-one Laguna Beach artists will welcome the public into their

homes and studios for the 12th annual Sawdust Art Festival Art Walk

Studio Tour.

The event has been expanded to two days -- April 5 and 6 -- for

the first time in its history.

The Art Walk Studio Tour assists the Sawdust Art Festival provide

opportunities for the public to enjoy and appreciate the art and

culture produced in the Laguna Beach community. The event also gives

the public a sneak preview of the art being created for the upcoming

summer art festivals including the Sawdust Art Festival, which opens

for its annual two month run June 27 and ends Aug. 31.

The Art Walk Studio Tour is also an opportunity to visit studios

not typically open to the public.

The artists will show and demonstrate their art including glass

work, jewelry, ceramic art, sculpture and photography.

After touring the studios on Saturday, patrons are invited to a

reception at Gallery 935 at the Sawdust Festival grounds. The

reception will feature an original dance performance commissioned by

the California Choreographers Dance Festival in which Eric Kupers and

the Dandelion Dancetheater of San Francisco will perform “Stories

Written Under the Skin” written by Lori B and David and Joseph

DeRusha.

A wine and cheese reception featuring the guitar music of Will

Brady will be held on Sunday at the conclusion of the Art Studio Walk

Tour.

Shuttle buses will run continuously during the Art Walk Studio

Tour each day, allowing guests to visit the artists at their leisure.

Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 and 10 a.m. to

3 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.

Tickets are now on sale for the Sawdust Art Festival Art Walk

Studio Tour. Cost is $55 for the Weekend Walk Pass, $45 for a single

day or $40 for seniors and students and includes all studio tours,

shuttle transportation, morning refreshments, afternoon receptions

Young artists exhibit work at LAM

“All Grown Up [With Everywhere to Go]” is showing at the Laguna

Art Museum’s Young Artists Society Gallery. The group exhibition of

works by advance placement students from the Orange County High

School of the Arts will run through July 6.

The exhibition was curated by Victoria Murphy, Laguna Art Museum’s

Young Artists Society Gallery volunteer curator since 2001.

Laguna Art Museum is at 307 Cliff Drive. For this exhibition

period, the Museum will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.,

including Monday holidays. The Museum is free to the general public

the first Thursday of each month in conjunction with the Laguna Beach
