‘Eaters sweep Santa Barbara

The UCI men’s volleyball team snapped a three-match losing streak

with a 30-18, 30-23, 30-28 sweep of UC Santa Barbara Thursday.

UCI topped the Gauchos in block assists (16-7), kills (53-41) and

digs (26-18) and recorded an efficient .432 clip. The Anteaters’

Jimmy Pelzel led all players with 23 kills while Monte Tucker put in

10. Libero Greg Ford had a game-high 11 digs. UCI improves to 16-8

and 9-8 in conference action.

Adam Ulfers led UCSB with 12 10 kills.

The Anteaters will look to avenge an earlier loss against Cal

State Northridge on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Crawford Hall.
