with BB gun
A 9-year-old boy was reportedly shot several times in the back and
stomach with a BB gun on Sunday.
Two boys, 15 and 17, allegedly spent their Sunday afternoon
shooting parked cars in Laguna Beach with BB guns, and in the process
hit the boy, who was skateboarding.
A witness sitting in one of the cars that was shot up reported the
incident at 4:59 p.m. Sunday, but didn’t see what happened to the
9-year-old.
The victim’s mother reported at 9:42 a.m. Monday that her son had
been shot several times with a BB gun the day before in the 2500
block of Riviera Drive in Irvine Cove.
“Had she reported the incident the day of the event,” Sgt. Robert
Rahaeuser said, “the boys would have been arrested for assault with a
deadly weapon and taken into custody.”
As of now, the two teenage Laguna Beach residents have only been
cited for vandalism.
The incident is still under investigation and further action
against the suspects could be taken.
