Emulex tops list of adapter suppliers

An independent research firm has said Emulex Corp. is the top

supplier of fiber channel adapters, with a 45% share of that market.

The Dell’Oro Group, based in Redwood City, Calif., included the

information in its annual Storage Area Network Report that was

released Feb. 24.

The report said Emulex was No. 1 in revenue, as well as in total

ports sold for the year. The company specializes in host bus

adapters, which are switches that enable large corporations to

connect large groups of computers to share information.

“Dell’Oro Group’s report validates Emulex’s continued market share

growth in the storage networking connectivity space,” said Kirk

Roller, the president and chief operating officer of Emulex.

Education academy will host presentation

David Hull, president of NAWA Academy, will present parents and

educators with options for students who are hands on learners, or

those who may have learning differences or time management issues. He

will discuss the programs offered at NAWA Academy, an educational

alternative for parents.

The presentation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the

Fairview Room at the Costa Mesa Community Center. The academy is the

only boarding school on the West Coast designed exclusively for

nontraditional learners. Along with the curriculum, students

participate in a wide variety of activities and sports that develop

skills in leadership, organization, problem solving and sequential

thinking.

Such activities include rock climbing, rafting, skateboarding,

snowboarding, baseball and cross country running. For reservations,

call (800) 358-6292.
